Credits & Billing

Oktivo uses a credit-based billing system. Credits are consumed per minute of call time.

How Credits Work

  • Each agent has a cost_per_min value (credits consumed per minute of call time)
  • Call duration is rounded up to the nearest minute (a 45-second call costs 1 minute)
  • Credits are checked before a call is triggered if you don’t have enough, the call is rejected with a 402 error

Credit Pre-Check

Before triggering a call, the system verifies:
  1. Your account has at least cost_per_min credits available (enough for 1 minute)
  2. If using retry logic, credits are checked again before each retry attempt
If credits are insufficient, the API returns:

Billing Duration

The billingDuration field on a call record shows the rounded-up duration used for billing:

Agent-Specific Costs

Different agents can have different per-minute costs based on:
  • Voice provider pricing
  • LLM model used
  • Additional tools enabled
Check the agent’s cost_per_min in the dashboard to understand the rate.

Monitoring Credits

  • View your current balance in the dashboard under Billing
  • Set up low-balance alerts to avoid service interruptions
  • Purchase additional credits through the billing portal

Failed Calls and Credits

  • If a call fails to connect (busy, no answer), minimal or no credits are consumed
  • Retried calls consume credits independently for each attempt
  • Cancelled calls (DELETE /api/v1/crm/calls/:contactUID) stop further credit consumption
